On campus and in every corner of the globe, Princetonians donned their best orange and black on the weekend of Oct. 22 to celebrate the 277th anniversary of the University’s charter and the third annual Orange & Black Day. It was an especially colorful weekend as Homecoming, the Orange & Black Tiger Tailgate, Game Day Lecture, and The Roar — an Annual Giving recent-alumni volunteer event — were all held on campus on Saturday. The day was punctuated with a down-to-the-wire football victory against undefeated Harvard, 21-14, following a birthday cake ceremony and singing of “Happy Birthday, Princeton” by the entire stadium.
Around the world, Princeton regional associations, classes, affinity groups — including undergraduate and graduate alumni — hosted Orange & Black Day events outfitted with party packs filled with fun wearables, décor and plenty of orange and black spirit. Close to 100 alumni groups requested the packs, and nine events were held internationally, including in Hong Kong, Japan, India, Singapore, Canada, the United Kingdom and France. Many alumni did their own celebrating by posting photos and videos to the Kudoboard and to social media using #OrangeandBlack and #BacktotheBest.
