Book talk with Anne Cheng ’85: ‘Ordinary Disasters: How I Stopped Being a Model Minority’

Join Anne Anlin Cheng ’85 to discuss her book of personal essays, “Ordinary Disasters: How I Stopped Being a Model Minority” (2024). The event will begin with a reading by Cheng, followed by a Q&A moderated by Cammie Lee ’22. Conversation topics will range from the craft of writing to interracial relationships to Cheng’s participation in the New York art world, including her experience as a 2023–24 MoMA Scholar in Residence and her contributions to the theoretical underpinnings of the current MET exhibition, “Monstrous Beauty: A Feminist Revision of Chinoiserie.” The event will be via Zoom and in person.
